 Simple  Steps to reduce the risk of Catching the Flue or any other Bug

In our Companion/Sitter Service, which is designed to keep Seniors living happily at home, we battle infectious deseases like the flue, stomach viruses and even the Swine Flue, every day. Virtually all of our clients are on several medications and have lowered immune systems.

Therefore it is important to cut the risk for our clients of contracting any germs brought into the home. In our clients homes, the first thing greeting a visitor, aside form the caregiver, is a handsanitizer. This simple and inexpensive step prevents the transmission of communicable deseases by handshake.

Next, once a week our caregivers sanitize doorknobs and light switches with a bleach solution, wipe down counters, bathrooms, doorhandles, and phones.
In between, our caregivers use a disinfectant spray for quick sazitizing of frequently used items and doorknobs.

In extreme cases, where a client has a very compromized immune system, caregivers use Disinfectant spray even on the grocery bags, cans & packages comming into the home. These simple steps are not as time consuming as they sound and together with frequent handwashing, cut down tremendously on the risk of catching  a cold or the flue.
